Linux PulseAudio – Rise sound quality

To rise sound quality of PulseAudio (default sound engine on Gnome) to a high level :

In /etc/pulse/daemon.conf :

resample-method = src-sinc-best-quality
high-priority = yes
default-sample-channels = 2
default-sample-format = float32le
default-sample-rate = 48000
default-fragments = 8
default-fragment-size-msec = 5

Then kill pulseaudio (it will respawn by itself) :

pulseaudio -k

Ubuntu Karmic – Bluetooth Audio – Incredible !

Ubuntu Karmic will success to Ubuntu Jaunty.

It will come with Gnome 2.28, Kernel 2.6.31, and Upstart.

Kernel 2.6.31 :

Updating a lot of drivers(like intel)
Better integration of ext4
Kernel 2.6.31.2 ChangeLog

Upstart :

A boot process completly different, optimized for user experience. It start as soon as possible the Xorg system, and switch quickly to your desktop. Services are launch in background. It’s a really fast system, in a few second your are on your desktop ready to click !

Gnome 2.28 :

Last step before Gnome 3.0.
A wonderfull sound experience !
Bluetooth audio is perfectly handle!
