Ubuntu Karmic will success to Ubuntu Jaunty.
It will come with Gnome 2.28, Kernel 2.6.31, and Upstart.

Upstart :
- A boot process completly different, optimized for user experience. It start as soon as possible the Xorg system, and switch quickly to your desktop. Services are launch in background. It’s a really fast system, in a few second your are on your desktop ready to click !
